"Peek-A-Boo" Appointment

Dr. Adolfo Barrera is pleased to announce a new program for children who have recently had their first birthday. This is a complimentary visit called a Peek-A-Boo appointment. The American Dental Association’s guidelines suggest the first dental visit at around age 1. Early childhood caries (baby-bottle decay) can start in children as young as 12 months. Our goal is to catch decay at an early stage so that we can prevent further harm and to educate parents on their baby’s oral hygiene.

This is an informative visit in which we will discuss oral hygiene, tooth eruption patterns, nutrition, fluoride, early childhood cavities, injury/trauma prevention, and oral habits (pacifier, thumb and finger sucking). There is also an exam of baby’s mouth to check hygiene, eruption, and surrounding oral tissues.

We are very excited and hope that this program will assist with the total care of all our little one’s health needs.
